Fear of Missing out (FOMO), taking on an entirely new meaning for me as a photographer.

Updated: May 21, 2020

I think it's human nature for all of us to have a little bit of FOMO (fear of missing out). To be honest, I think the #stayhome movement came as a welcome break for us to let some of those fears about missing out slip away. At least I thought that would be the case in my life, but lately FOMO has taken on a new meaning for me and continues to fester in my photographer mind. It has become photographer FOMO - the fear of missing out on my client's important life events. I didn't realize how much I fed off of and deeply craved witnessing the intense connections that people have with one another…I may be a little obsessed, lol. I take such tremendous pride in what I do and am always honoured when I’m asked to document cherished life moments. Now, I see my clients holding their babies, families cuddled up tight and cozy on their couch, kids running wild outside as the weather gets nicer, brides and grooms eloping, couples connecting more deeply, and our community holding each-other up. All I can think is- they need more photos, I need to capture these moments for them.

But sadly, I can't...not yet. I am so hopeful that I will be able to soon and it will make my heart sing! SO, until then I wanted to share a little bit of the inside my home: The cozy, the crazy, the beautiful, and the messy and I hope to urge you to do the same! Grab your phone, or maybe you have a camera in your closet, collecting dust?! Pull it out (and call me!). Let’s get you using it! Never stop taking photos, life is way too epic

I am starting to book tentative photo sessions for the summer now, so fill out the contact page, lets chat!!

Lots of love

Mary
